Cher – first option for Catwoman

If Angelina Jolie can be found under discussions for acting as Catwoman, well, we found today from “The Telegraph” publication that first option for Nolan, stage director of new Batman movie, is actually singer and actress Cher.

This is for a reason that seems very well argued: “Nolan wishes to portray Catwoman as a vamp of which years when she shined are melting down. New Catwoman will be exactly the opposite of the “fatal” women which Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry created” states a source from inside of studios.

What remains for us is to ask ourselves how will look together a 60 years old Catwoman and a Bruce Wayne/Batman which is at half of her age.

Cher won in 1985 the distinction “Best actress” at movie festival of Cannes, for her role in “The Mask”, and in 1988 she took the Oscar for main role, with “Moonstruck” movie.

Choosing Cher in place of Angelina Jolie seems for us a bad move, although stage director wants to show a decadent Catwoman, Cher might not be the one to do it. Also the discrepancy of age between Catwoman and Batman would be a minus for movie. But who knows… maybe stage director bases on Cher’s experience or Cher has some magic potion to make her young and beautiful again.
