Brad Pitt will play in “Moneyball”
Brad Pitt will play in the movie “Moneyball” which presents the story of Billy Beane, the general director of the baseball club Oakland Athletics. The movie will be directed by Steven Soderbergh and produced by Columbia Pictures Studios, according to variety.com.
The movie is inspired from the novel “Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game”, written by Michael Lewis. The novel presents the destiny of Billy Beane, general director of the baseball club, Oakland Athletics, which uses a complicated system of analysis on computer to make a team and qualify for World Series.
Pitt also collaborated with Soderbergh at all movies from “Ocean’s” series. The actor became interested of the “Moneyball” project since 2008, after Steve Zaillian accepted to write the scenario.
Executive producers will be Michael De Luca and Rachel Horovitz.
